Bash the school run 4x4's again

On the Today programme this morning there was a section near to the end of the programme from the Association of Teachers and Lecturers' Conference in Gateshead. Apparrently a motion has been put up for debate that use of 4x4's /SUVs or, as the presenter referred to them, "Chelsea Tractors", should be banned from roads near to schools druing the school run.............. on health grounds. Who are these people! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Humbug!!! I had to walk 2 miles to school and back every day whatever the weather, if it was good enough for me then it's good enough for today's kids............ as for the teachers, well they should be forced onto public transport instead of cluttering up all the playgrounds and road near the schools with parked cars.
In this area most of the teachers drive SUV's anyway so maybe they should set an example to the parents!

At least I cannot be called a hippocrite....... 2 4x4's and no kids to take to or collect from school either Laughing Laughing Now if you'll just excuse me I must go and take a drive up and down the road outside the village school where you need an SUV to get along it because Council have dug up the street.............. to build a new school! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Are the kids less likely to be badly injured/killed by a sports cars or family saloon then? I think not 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Guys, by even discussing this, it sounds like we give a s**t.

Clearly, none of us do

There was a spate of idiots going around carparks near us putting flyers and stickers on 4x4's, spouting about how irresponsible the drivers were.
This was before we got ours, but it was hilarious when one potato skin shoe wearing pleb was stickering a Nissan Patrol belonging to an absolute Meathead.

He came back to his car, caught them in the act and threatened to give him a good hiding unless he got every last bit of sticker off his car.

The guy was absolutely bricking it! Laughing Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
