Gutted... Just kerbed one of my alloys

Deep(ish) snow/slush in our village now... popped out to finish the xmas shopping and half way down the village met a van. Now it's wide enough for 2 vehicles to pass but it was a "guess where the kerb acually is" moment... which I got right...

but

Just inside the kerb was a rut of ice obviously made by someone who got the guess wrong... the rut dragged me even closer to the kerb and I managed to free the front...but the rear was not so lucky and it clouted the snow covered kerb.... Censored

Hoping it can get touched up.... gutted! RRS gone

Ouch Big Cry
Thats why i'm in the process of changing my 22" overfinch wheels for some 19" winter wheels & tyres i don't want to damage mine, it makes you feel sick. You could always buy another and use that as your spare now and let me know if it fits in your spare wheel carrier Thumbs Up

If you get it repaired choose where carefully. I've had a nightmare recently having the Alfa wheels refurbished. They did a real bodge job which obviously I didn't accept and they have had the car a week now, several times telling me it was ready but they were no better.

I had the Sport wheels refurbished after a spot of off roading Very Happy and they did a perfect job and were actually cheaper, but this time they were fully booked. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Hi awd man I know just how you feel as I did exactly the same last Feb but the good thing is I never got round to referbing them and here we are again. I will get them done at Guy Salmon Aylesford who did a superb job last time at £65 a wheel.

Hi there,
Sorry to hear about the problem, I feel your pain. I too have few upsetting marks on my wheels.

However, just an idea - why not wait till the end of the winter when the snow is gone? Otherwise you can get them kerbed again in a similar situation (not that you don't learn from mistakes... Laughing ), but there is always a chance! Vadim A.
