If you blank off the EGR shouldn't you also remove the electronics otherwise the engine ECU will get wrong inputs?
I know it's old tech stuff but I had this done to my TDi300 Defender about 6 years ago when the cat needed replacing and I didn't think I needed it any more.
Also how do you stand at MOT Emissions testing time with the TDv6 engine which was designed to run with the EGR and emissions monitoring kit? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

No you leave the electronics connected to keep the engine ecu thinking its still working, the valves will actualy still operate as normal but not let any gas into the inlet side.

The EGR in current legislation has nothing to do with a MOT.

Thanks for that Pete. My 90 has always run better since the mod was done and without all the emissions kit strangling it! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

What is an EGR? Whatever it is, I suppose it is bad? I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

Hmmm. Looks like needless tinkering for the bored to me? Better to learn to play guitar or learn to speak French I think. I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.
