RRS EPB Fault any ideas how to fix?

Guys have had my rrs for a few months and have started getting a electronic parking brake fault when trying to apply.

Lights come on the dash and I get a loud screeching noise for around 10 secs. Only way I can then get it off is by turning of the engine and starting the process again.

I have rac warranty and have taken my car to nationwide repair of whom they recommend. They have hooked it up to their machine and cleared the fault only for it to come back a couple of days later!?

Anyone have a smiler experience and any idea as to how to finally resolve? I can't be sure however I believe the previous owner had not long replaced pads & discs.

I have spoken with my local rr dealer and to say they were unhelpful would be an understatement!

Thanks for the reply, I have done some research of which has produced the below range rover bulletin

Should such a repair be completed by free of charge as a recall by my land rover dealer?
I do have warranty however this is with rac rather than lr

Any help or advice is welcomed

Dealers don't tend to do this free of charge unfortunately (despite the EPB being a p*ss poor design) Whistle The most common cause of the screeching is the park brake shoes requiring adjustment, or in my case the shoe linings on one side had detached and disintegrated, causing the actuator to overtravel and make that awful noise. If you continue to apply the EPB in this condition, damage to the actuator will occur and may cost you dearly unless your warranty covers it.Stating the obvious, until you can get it fixed, steer the wheels in to touch the kerb or something, and put it in Park, to prevent further damage. RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i
