2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Potential New Owner - Depreciation

Hi, I am looking for a new car to fit the growing family into and I am considering a new Range Rover Sport, most likely a 3.0 diesel HSE. The question I have is around depreciation levels, does anyone have a current view of annual depreciation levels after say, 1, 2 and 3 years?

My local dealer isn't offering any discounts on new RRS, so I imagine demand is strong right now, and therefore depreciation relatively low.

I'm just trying to get a view on cost of ownership and this is typically the largest element, so any views are welcome.

Cheers
Andy

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

According to the latest edition of What Car? retained value after 3 years is:
2010MY RRS TDV6 SE - 48%
2010MY RRS TDV6 HSE - 47%
2010MY RRS TDv8 HSE - 44% (but it is now a discountinued model as of July)
2010MY RRS 5.0Supercharged HSE - 36%

No figures are given for the TDV6/TDV8/Supercharged Autobiography.

The lowest figure I can find so far is for a Citroen C4 Coupe............. retains 25% of it's value after 3 years..... even the unloved Citroen C6 retains 29% 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I havent posted here for aeons however essentially bought a RRS via email from James at CHPR/Lookers

In 27 years of motoring I eventually found a salesman happy to trade transparently
He immediately gave me his best price and I pretty much immediately agreed the deal

I would be amazed at you not being offered a discount however when I bought few of the dealers I spoke to offered much off list despite 4x4's being harder to shift than ice cubes to Innuits at the time Smile

LR products are almost certainly being built to order at the moment to preserve prices however a quick Google of the brokers should give you an idea that 8% discount is easily achievable

My folks and I are totally chuffed with our RR Sport despite it being pretty much the last car Id ever imagined buying
From lording it up in the snow this year, to towing effortlessly and even doing a 2000 mile Pyrenean raid in 2 days this month its been superb

And having just read this months CAR I visited the Porsche website to configure a Cayenne to the spec of my TDV8 and was pretty shocked at the cost

Good luck - and give James a bell, Im always happy to recommend good service and all you have to lose is the price of a phone call
