Door inserts from leather to wood

Just wanted to let people know that it IS possible to change from the leather inserts on the door cards to wood ones. My 09 Supercharger had ivory inserts but now I have lovely piano black wood ones!

Once I had the parts I booked the car in to local dealer - Stratstone, Solihull - who had the car for a day, took the one door card off then called me and said it couldnt be done.

Khan Designs up in Bradford were superb. One of their lads, early 20s, ex-army swapped the door inserts, hockey sticks and dash vents all in just over an hour while I waited. Talk about the army philosophy of 'cracking on'. Absolutely fab.

You'd have thought the dealer could have done it though wouldnt you?!

Dealers are used to repairing the engines not rebuilding the inside - I'm surprised the dealership accepted the job in-house, usually that sort of job they farm out to specialists like Kahn or local upholsterers 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I would love to change my wood to the beige Alpaca leather cards.

Anybody want to sell me theirs? SW

In fairness the dealer DID take the job on, even though the parts were not LR genuine parts. I just imagined that they would have come across a similar request before.

Ok, what we know is that obviosly the door cards with the leather or vinyl inserts differ from the ones with the wood trim. Does anybody have a picture with a removed leather or vinyl insert, either this part pictured itself or the whole door trim? I know that the leather or viniyl inserts are welded to the door trim or something like that, bu I canīt imagine, that there should be no way to remove this inserts. Anyhow, these inserts are not available seperately?
