Drivers Door Locking Problem.

Hey there people, been a long time reader never had to actually join up and post until now. Drivers door wont lock anymore by the key fob. All other doors lock but not drivers, the snib on the inside feels a little rough to close, it works from the central locking button on the dash. fella said it might be a worn solanoid. Any help is appreciated.

(Had it with my mechanic and he took off door fascia but not specialising in Land Rover decided to go no further because of access difficultuies to locking mechanism) It can't be that hard on diesel???

Yep, this is quite a common issue... if under warranty, simple to get fixed Thumbs Up

OK, cheaper to find an LR indy then... he'll know what he's doing with the product (hopefully) but won't cost you £120/hr in labour Very Happy

I can probably get a damaged door from breakers real cheap, use the good parts from the inside. Whats an "indy" though? It can't be that hard on diesel???

An independent LR specialist - worth using them after warranty has expired, as they are much cheaper especially when larger pieces of work are required where main dealer rates would make things very expensive.

I used to be pretty good at Lego Smile

V8 Andy, just read the page you posted, holy fook there's alot of locking and unlocking going on there, felt like I wanted to boil my head. My mechanic said that when he had the door fascia off he couldnt actually get working at the locking mechanism because of a sheet of metal or something. I called him a lightweight Confused It can't be that hard on diesel???

had the same problem on drivers door and yes when you tke the door card off you cant get to the mechanism
but the cable that connects the door lock and mechanism i think is the culprit so i held it up and drowned it in wd40

problem solved ,
