TDV6 Maximum Speed

Hi folks.
I was recently in Germany and had the chance to try the car without speed limits.
I realised that the maximum speed was, on the GPS, 188 km/h on a light positive slope.
When it got flat, I lost some km/h.
I was in drive, no sport.
Car is just serviced, less than 60k kms.

Is this the real maximum speed?
I have seen on the technical details it should be around 191.

Maybe it depends on my wheels (20) with a wider offset (+1,5 cm).

I read somewhere about a factory speed limit on this engine which should be deactivated, but I am not sure about this, also because the guys talking about this seeme dto know very little on the matter...

Any hints?
Suggestions?
Personal experiences?
Ciao.
Gianluca

PS: for the sake of understanding it's not a matter of trying to let car go any faster (it is not the right car to do this, we know..), but just to have a rough idea if there is something not working properly. My gallery: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=994

TDV8 usually does around 200km/hr, but with the BAS, WOW. Clocked on an independent GPS, 215km/hr!!! And the acceleration is just unbelievable. Not just the 30-100, but the entire range. Cruising at 140km/hr, and then putting the right foot down, and not really stopping the noticeable acceleration all the way up to 200km/hr.

Fuel usage wasn't bad either. Normal driving at home I'm getting 10l/100km. On the autobahn, going 140-200km/hr, 11.5l/100km, and in Denmark, with speed-limits (130km/hr), 9.5l/100km.

considering above comment was on 3.6 tdv8 with app.50bhp+ remap, i think 188km/h pull from 2.7 tdv6 seems right imho. (FYI, i think my standard tdv8 had done around 200-210km/h top.)
relax. it's all good'n the hood. Wink MY08 TDV8 HSE

210km/h is what the TDV8 is limited to, and it will do that easily, no fuss no muss and you can back off the throttle too and it will stay on the limit. All tested on the Autobahns :cough - cough: Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

The electronical limit from LR kicks in at about 185km/h (indipendent GPS) and you can feel it "breaking", it doesn't feel nice imho. Neutral

Without the limiter it should do a little more on the flat, I think because in my car the limiter definitely brakes. I don't know how much more though, since I still have the stupid limiter.
In a few days I will be hopefully able to tell you, however it should be a little faster than standard then... Mr. Green RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

Thanks for your post.
I actually did not feel any breaking action.
So you confirm the electronic speed limit.

We should ask Pete from BAS if his remapping cancels this limit, though.

Pete?

I asked Pete here about this: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/post199163.html#199163 Thumbs Up

@Josh:
Just type in "km miles" in google and it tells you "1 km = 0.621371192 miles", so 210 km/h is 130.489195 mph - approximately. Wink

edit: damn, should have just written "130 mph" then I would have been faster. Confused Wink RRS TDV6 HSE, 2006, bonatti grey, ebony interior, rear diff, s/c grille and vents, stormers, privacy, tasmods, iphone integration Wink

Italy 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Hi, I am back again on the same topic.

By using the sat nav I was able (were allowed) to get to 191 km/h.

Now, after pete's BAS remap (which actually was absolutely stunning), I had the chance to go on the same motorways again.

Were allowed (again), I got to 193 very easily.
Then I felt a severe cut in the power .. on-off-on-off..
So there is actually a speed limit.

Now, it is not my intention to go racing with the car, but I heard that Land Rover services can cancel this sort of speed limit ancd also that some versions of TDV6 does not have such speed limit.

Can somebody confirm this?

I actually felt like the car was going to have at least 5-10 kms more.

Pete, any suggestions? My gallery: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=994

Piero, does it mean they will update your software when you go for the next service?
Please keep us updated on this and on the procedure they follow in doing so.
Grazie.

I think the GPS is not so exact.
Has somebody tried with a SC? LR says the mac of the SC ist 225km/h. I think the gasoline consumption will be around 50l/100km. Laughing
