Glad i'm not the only one up at this time on the net! Sounds like you need a good SCOTCH before bed? But I would agree that being offered a non LR product when your car goes in for work is simply not good enough! At Listers Audi whenever I had to take any of my previous cars in for whatever I was always put into something better/interesting .... and I think this is good because it always tempted me into something else. I think this is a good policy for both customer & dealer

Unfair

Are we not allowed to name dealers who treat us in an inappropriate manner then, I thought this site was for members to share info and experiences, good or bad?
I've just got to know who's xxxxxxxxx Limited.

I think Martin ( forum administrator ) removed/edited this post due to nature/language used. ( I did see it before removal ) the post was referring to Guy Salmon of the Sytner group. I can say that the forum member was not happy with this dealership..... at all !

Thanks MDP,
That explains why.
If I had to sum up Guy Salmon's it'd be difficult not to get my comments removed if bad language is not permitted.

However the post was unnecessarily rude for a 'family' forum (we do have young members) and as such was removed.

Any problems with that, please feel free to PM me. Smile Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I didn't get to read the original post but if I caught the jist of it right, you're aggrieved because the dealer gave you a Ford Focus when your car was in for work?

This is pretty common practice, BMW dealers do it too, I was always given the smallest, cheapest car they sold whenever my M5 went in for work, the decision is always based on economics, sometimes you got an Enterprise hire car (ford etc), sometimes you got a Mini or a 1 series, you never get like for like.

My argument with them was always that if they want to try and make people like myself upgrade they should lend me a larger or better specification car as a way of showcasing it, but it never happened. L319 D4 HSE

When my VW LWB Transporter van has gone in for warranty work, I've been given a new Polo - I struggle to even get my tool box in the boot!
When our RRSport when in to get the headlamp replaced under warranty, we were given a FreeLander. I must admit, they look okay from the outside, but I think they have the worse interior of anything I've ever been in - it was a mass of cheap black plastic with were nothing seemed logical or reachable and it all looked very dated. If I had paid £7K for that car, I would of expected a better quality interior. Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

Tip for forum members........if they live in London.......Stratstone maintain a complete fleet of TC 'chipped' cars to lend to customers as a sales tool to promote our upgrade!

If you let the after sales dept know before you book your car that you would like to drive (sorry, evaluate) a 'chipped' car they'll gladly oblige you with at least a Disco3 or RR Sport or maybe even a RR TD6 Vogue Wink

Agree with TC, if you give your dealership enough notice they should be able to put you into a similar spec loan car.
