IM STUPID!!!it was a flat battery due to the radio being on while washing the car, because the car only does short trips its not allowing the battery to fully charge itself according to the friendly land rover man in green.

I had similar issues due to battery being almost flat last January (-18 in Dusseldorf!!!)in my Fiat Panda. The electric steering indication was lit red but the steering was working perfectly. After the visit to the garage I was told that if the battery is not up to the specs volts then the ECU acts weirdly. 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

Another who has been misled by the " Power upgrade approved by Land Rover" - you were conned there is no such thing as a mod to the engine mapping/ power output that is approved by Land Rover, doing anything to it will invalidate your warranty. Hope the supplier provided you with an engine warranty that covers any faults that might be traced back to doing this. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

When the battery is fully charged, if you are not going to use the vehicle for a while, park it with the suspension lowered and locked in access mode (just hold the down button for the suspension until you hear the chime and get the little padlock icon beside the suspension button illuminated) this will tell the car that you are not coming back to it for a long time when you lock it and will put the electronics in a deep sleep mode, notably bit will stop the car from trying to self level if you are parked on a slope. I leave my car unmoved for up to 4 months and while it is kept on a flat and level drive I have never found the need to to this and the battery has always been OK even after such a long time without use. Member "Josh" gave this tip on another post recently when somebody else found their battery was not holding charge. If your car has been kept outside as well, then all the recent cold weather will not have helped battery life either. Has anybody tried one of those dash top solar powered

I know the best thing is to go out there, burn a load of oil, create lots of particulate (if you have a diesel) and tons of nasty chemicals if you have a petrol engine and squash a few hedgehogs and small furry animals, but sometimes some folks do have to leave their cars dormant for long periods WW. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
