I seem to remember some time ago, that a hard drive type arrangement could be purchased for storing your music collection on - eliminating the need to carry the world's quantity of CDs around in your car...

Is this still the case, and if so has anyone fitted one to their RR/RRS/Disco etc? Or am I just p ing in the wind???

I Have one......it's called an Ipod interface.

Mine is only a small hard drive (8gig) but you can get them loads bigger, you can remove the hard drive (ipod) when ever you want and listed to music via headphones if you ever need to.

I can't think of a better hard drive solution IMHO
