i heard denmark taxes 170% off the invoice for cars.
the pure prices of cars are supposed to be one of the lowest in europe.

i actually looked into the case of importing one from DK to where i am last year.
i was introduced to a dealer in denmark through a friend.
the dealer was supposed to give mine at a domestic price.
(with my assurance that i will not report to LR HQ, of course. )

my dream ended when the dealder chickened out at the last minute
and gave me a full export quotation.
with everything untill registration of the vehicle, i think it was only eur 1~2k cheaper
than of my local dealer.
so i just went to my dealer around the corner the next day and orderd mine.


Moral of the story : make dealer friends in denmark/sweden.


p.s. i wonder how much gt speed would cost in denmark, after tax.

yes but dk taxes are not applied when the good is exported.

You're right actually.

Denmark is one of the cheapest country where to buy a car for export.

I don't really understand you're story, you can perfectly legally buy a car in Denmark without taxes/VAT (25%) for export, I did that for my XJR, you just have to pay the VAT applicable in the importing EEC country when registering the car.

But let's be clear about the fact that the profit margin of the whole operation is negligible.
