I watched the dealer put mine on, they use similar stuff to no more nails. Once there on they aint coming off. Speed Limits! not where I live!

Yeah, they've always been stick afterthoughts rather than replacement housings. I don't think they're coming off

Thanks all - I'll opt for the hairdryer approach initially and after ripping my fingers to bits, pulling the door mirror off completely, and covering everything with slowly hardening glue i'll opt for the crowbar approach and just beat the s*** out of the rest of the car in frustration...... Neil |

They're not going to come off with a hair dryer. Complete new mirrors or paint them. TDV6 - gone

Update - Mirror Chrome Caps removed! Took less than 10 minutes for both sides! Heated with hairdryer - couple of screwdrivers in between mirror and cover and prised off - no damage to mirrors or covers. Left with a "spiders web" of black rubber adhesive type stuff stuck the mirror housing which peeled off in a oner no problems. Very slight outline marking left which has disappeared with a good wash.
