Think the TDv8 and TDv6 HSE specs are pretty similar, but suspect LR are probably making it up as they go along at present in their inimitable style.....

Best way to get a true spec is to come and have a look at mine, any time mate. Its about time you visited the wide open spaces of Northumberland anyway, and get a break from the hurley burley of the congested south... Wink RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

Smarticus, great post fella, just what i need to hear as I swap my TDV6 for TDV8 next week. Very Happy

Now you have had it a few miles, how is the V8 soundtrack?
louder than the V6? Something else is always something better:

ATM, great to hear that your TDv8 is nearly here too. Hope you are preparing for the "night before pick up" sweats though. Just to help you out I'll repeat my "night before" post here (which was written at 4.15am yesterday morning, when the clock was advancing really really slowly towards the 9.30am pick up time) :
_______________________________________________________________________

We should do a "night before you pick up your new car" counselling service here. Its now 4.15am and I can't sleep. Might just be the head cold everyone in the family seems to have developed, the return of the weirdly mild weather outside, or simply the irressistable urge to get up and go get the new car syndrome. Find myself saying over and over, "what time is it", "will they be open yet", "can I set off already", "what have I forgotten", "what might go wrong so when I get there they say - sorry, but you can't have it" ....etc, etc.

Totally reminds me of 2 things. The way an 8 year old feels the night before Christmas, and the way an adult male feels when his wife is 9 months pregnant and the new arrival could be here very soon....

There is a whole range of emotional undertones going on ...... There is a tinge of guilt in here - why am I spending so much on a new car, when I already have a perfectly good one ? Am I doing the right thing, and Worry - will everything be alright ? There's some excitment - what will she be like ? Its a bit like that short walk upstairs with a new girl friend when you are a student. Will she perform. Will I perform. Will it be great, or just good, or really disappointing. Will I respect her afterwards, is the anticipation better than the event, will this spoil a beautiful relationship. Will I regret this.......

Its a bit unnerving that the Landrover website still seems in denial that a TDv8 really exists. I can't comfort myself by going on there and "building" my new car - which is how I managed the anxiety befor picking up the TDv6 last year.... Maybe the TDv8 is all in my imagination and I am going to wake up from a good / bad dream ...?

Pathetic, ain't it. Like only 4 am in the morning can achieve.

Its only a bloody car and loads of money after all ............
