Which vehicle do you think has better off road ability? the Range Rover Sport or the Discovery 3? |

Given the same driver, conditions, tyres etc then the RRS is technically "better" off road as it is a shorter wheelbase. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support! |

and the RRS has an additional extended-extended mode on the air suspension, should you need a boost if grounded, apparently. So i was told on my "free" 1/2 day off road trial that i got when i bought my RRS. |

The D3 has a key advantage offroad - it belongs to my wife ..... so I am happy throwing it at anything. The D3's 18" wheels and tyres are a big help v the 20" tart's wheels of the RRS.

Martin, why does a shorter wheelbase necessarily make a "better" offroader ![]() Disco 4 TDv6 HSE Ipanema Defender 90, 200tdi CSW |

Generally speaking, you have better breakover angles with a shorter wheelbase.

What wheelbase does a RRS and D3 have anyhow ? Now the quantity in inches isn't in the name, its hard to remember these things.
