This is crazy !

The world must be going mad, who in their right mind would want to pay £31.00 for a set of dustcaps?

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Bonatti Grey

We had some new Kahn alloys fitted to our Audi Cabriolet. These had Kahn metal valve caps. They got nicked after only about two weeks when my wife was parked at the local sports centre.
Now we have a new Mini Cabriolet and this too had metal valve caps. Nothing special, just plain metal - similar to the type you can buy in Halfords for under a fiver. These have also now been nicked.
So it now has black plastic caps (cost me £1 for a set) and it looks no worse. Matt

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Makes you wonder why anybody bothers to pinch them - it's not as if there is any other use for them. As far as I can remember I have only ever owned one car with metal dust caps as standard and that was the FFRR............... no-one ever pinched those! I dread to think how much a set of the caps for the tyre pressure monitoring system will cost with their built-in radio transmitters. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Don't panic too much Tim, the pressure monitor is built into the stem, not the valve cap. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Some idiot pinched my black plastic ones, oh well I thought. Left it too long before replacing them cos when I inflated one of the tyres there must have been dust forced into the valve cos it was dirty and all I could do was sit there and watch the tyre go down. Had to get new valve fitted, I now tighten then on with pliars! 2007 TDV6HSE, Java black, 20" 10 spokes, super charger grill and vents, Sunroof, tv, fridge, brembo's plus all the other 2007 bits, Limo Priv glass, turbchipped

Belgium 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

I've bought a set of metal valve caps and stem covers on eBay for just over £4.00 - the same seller also has available locking chrome valve caps. They use a small hex screw - these she sells for £10.50 plus shipping.

See item no: eBay Item No. 190054254659 on eBay.

The seller is reliable. I've bought two sets from her as the 27mm stem covers did not fit the Stormers (though they fit the 19" wheel valve stems) so I reordered a set with 20mm stem covers...both came within a week. 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge

Thieves kept taking the plastic dust caps of my D3 and previous Discoverys, got myself a set of locking steel dustcaps of ebay for £3. Then caught a young lad on cctv trying to nick them - well he tryed Laughing, knew where he lived so told him I would let his parents see a copy of the cctv pics if he did it again!
