Several posts here about chipping. Jeremy Clarkson's Sunday Times article this weekend makes an interesting read, and for someone that doesn't know any better, makes sense too.

Clarkson is being simplistic (and not a little bit paternalistic) in his opinions. Why does WV not make the Polo with a 237 bhp engine? Well for one thing cost. As Clarkson correctly notes - there is more to a fast and safe car than just horse power. Another reason? Marketing. Who would buy the TT if the Polo had the same handling and power but at 8,000 GBP less?
