Air vent stale odour NEW pollen carbon filter fitted

Noticed a stale odour when the aircon is turned OFF (eco button ON ) changed pollen filter still a stale odour. When AIRCON is ON there is NO bad smell but obviously my fuel consumption will be poorer any suggestions/ advise how to eliminate the smell other than spraying air freshener or riding with the windows down 😉😁 thanks

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

I've noticed the same on every car I've had,,, I think it's one of those things,,, condensate will appear in the system as it moves from cold to warm. Try putting a bomb through the system,, it's helps for a while. Euro car parts were selling them for a few quid a while ago. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Just run the climate control system. You'll save three fifths of Censored all driving around with it off. Even if you turn it off, you'll need to run it at regular intervals to keep the various bits lubricated - the air con fluid includes a lubricant for the pump etc., and the pump is being turned by the engine all the time.

Set it to the temperature you want and then just leave it - once it's at temperature it'll run at a low level so any savings by not running it will be small and the risk of a big bill increases. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Mine is on all year round, I had endless arguments with my wife about using aircon because someone told her years ago that it used much more fuel.
Gave up in the end. Her car has condensation, is full of dust from open windows and certainly smells no better than mine.

Set it and leave it alone. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

I never understand people buying 2.5t SUVs and then worrying about a tiny bit of fuel usage. You want to save fuel? You're in the wrong vehicle. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I turned the instant consumption display on the other day out of curiosity (and because I wondered if my intermittent fault was having a permanent impact on "economy") and boy are you not wrong there.. single digits off every roundabout and junction Laughing 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S
