Hi All, how many miles approx will you get before the warning for ad blue comes up, does all RRS need it?
My 2015 dynamic doesn't appear to have it?

If you don’t have it don’t worry about it .

As already said it’s to do with emissions so it’s driving style not mileage that affects it,
It was one way to reduce emissions along with stop start etc to get the next EU# rating

As Canary says you would just fill it up like you would your washers

I never put any in during the 2 years we had ours

Yes. Its like a black screw on cap.

Mine drinks it like a baby goes though nappies. I seem to think I have put 30L into it (Amazon seems cheapest) in the last 15K miles since I had it in Sept 2020.

I am a spirited driver mind...

Wait till you tow something, 26l in 2,400 miles towing 2,000 kg caravan.

Dealer actually had it in to check as they thought it was a excessive but I haven’t towed since.

I managed to get it on draught in a French service station and it was cheap and have now found a local service station with it on draught.

towed many times with ours and no still never added any between services
(they topped it up at service time but never had a low warning message)

Its to do with the type of driving you do, ours never did a trip less than 20 miles, all country roads around home, main A roads when we did tow the tintent, our driving style must have suited it

Same roads as me. Most journeys 30 mins to an hour. Tracks, B, A, Dual and Motorway.

I don't mind filling it, although the filler is crap even with a filler tub with a breather. The Carplan 10l from Amazon are nice. Guess thats why its been moved on most cars to the fuel filler area.

I came from a D3 with a mid tuned TDV6, but I must say the SDV6 is a step up. I must try a V8 one day mind.

At least our filler is easy to get to. A friend had to top up his Disco Sport and the filler is at the rear of the engine bay beside the bonnet hinge, it took two of us to get stuff into it.

All shell stations have it on pumps but you usually need to park in an hgv lane to access it, never had any issues getting it on any shell site, would hope it’s also a quality product!

The easiest way to get an idea of when you're using adblue is this, remember in days of old when diesels usually didn't come with turbos, dpfs and cats, they would smoke like the Bismark when cold, if you let the engine labour and when you booted it if it wasn't hot.

Well that is exactly when ad blue is now introduced, as despite all the other fancy crap that now goes on, the aim is to cut out those emissions that exit the tailpipe.

Drive sensibly until up to temperature, and don't let the car get into top (by using S mode) when on twisty roads or slow moving traffic, will reduce your adblue consumption.

Also remember that particulates that the exhaust system of an adblue vehicle aims to prevent, will be stored within that exhaust system, so a good blast now and then is even more relevant.

My DEF warning has just popped up on my info screen and I was wondering what the DEF tank capacity is. Anyone know? I'm looking to refill it myself and would like to know how much of the stuff to buy.

Thanks for the info. That tallies with what I've found on t' interweb - DEF tank capacity values seem to fluctuate between 18L ~ 22L. MY17 RRS Autobiography - Corris Grey
