United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

So its 12.3v before start and 14.25v while running. That means its working properly. Asked my wife to give it longer runs in future. After all, she does have a Fiat 500 and a Golf R of her own to choice do shorter runs in Very Happy

Buy a Ctek charger, then she can leave it on for as long as she likes. It will maintain the battery at optimum charge, obviously after it has charged it up. My wife does about 20 miles a week if that. Ctek on most of the time, no problems. I have a comfort connector, hidden in the opening under the number plate, so no bonnet opening. Takes about 10 seconds to hook up.

I went into the secret menu today on RRS 2.7 tdv6 engine off 11.0v
fired engine and imiadiately went to 13v i would imagine the voltage would
rise if left running

Evets,
11V is not good Shocked unless you had loads of stuff turned on Question that low is a sign of a duff battery

Yes i have the red battery light on. jumping from 11v to 13v shows it is charging.
I had it in diagnostic mode on the secret menu. i think that is why it was on 11v.
When using SDD diagnostics a good fully charged battery lasts about 10 - 15 minutes
it really eats the power. The elec people say a secondary charger should be connected
when diagnosing it should have an output of 20 amps. Land Rover say it needs 40 amps
putting in.
