Hi Andy, thanks so much for replying. Ahh ok, that doesn't sound so bad. Do you have a rough ball park figure how much a independent specialist would charge for a cam cover gasket change?

I think you will find you may have to remove the Supercharger on a 5.0L to gain access to the cam cover inner retaining bolts, there is also a special tool to align the cover when refitting. Could also check for any excessive backlash in the s/c nose cone as the tvs1900 s/c did suffer a bit with wear in the torsional isolator coupling and spring which I believe made a rattling knocking noise. If you remove the s/c belt not to difficult to do, should be able confirm if that is the noise though.

Thanks both for replying. Wow you guys are so knowledgeable. If this was your car would u attempt to try an replace the gasket yourself or would I give to a independant specialist?

I recently replaced both the accessories and supercharger belts on mine, S/C one is easy as comes off first, just had a read of the Powertrain section of the W/Shop manual for the 5.0L S/C engine first.

Really sorry my mistake the the vin. I quoted is for the fullfat, it should have been CA759577 for the Sport, if after that it should hopefully have the modified tensioners.

Time is something I have quite a bit off these days as called it a day and decided to retire to NZ. Try this link to the Owners Manual, it is for the MY2012-2013 as the MY2010-2011 did have a couple of minor differences I believe.

Whilst I'm not a big fan of black cars (wash it, drive it; dirty again ), I do think the interior provides a nice contrast and can't see how anyone could object. And I'm loving the registration number |
