I have MY12, it works however I never use it. It's not quick to change dip/main. 2018 Telsa MS

I agree with the above, I have it on but you have to anticipate whether it is likely to go to dip quick enough or not, it depends whether the approaching car is on a corner, in a dip or behind a bump etc. It is very quick at going back to full beam which is why I still use it, and as soon as you manually operate it then it stays manual until the stalk is pushed fully forward again.

For the OP's question, I can't remember but is the on/off option in the on screen menu accessed via the stalk? 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Yes, auto high beam is buried in the menu via the stalk.

The auto high beam will only come on if it's nice & dark and there are no light sources, e.g. no other cars (obviously!) and nothing reflective like road signs. It's quite cautious. It deactivates maybe 1 to 3 seconds slower than a human would, depending on road conditions. it's not especially happy on winding country roads when a car can approach all of a sudden (we see the lights a mile off illuminating hedgerows, but the car does not). L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Has anyone got experience of this function in any other vehicles?

A while back, I mentioned to a mate of mine that the LR auto high beam wasn't the best, but he said his Mercedes system was really good. Kev

I have an MY12, registered 2013, one of the last RRS1s. Don’t have HBA So not used to it, but your car is now 7 or 8 years old, the technology is stone aged.

My friend has a 2 year old Merc GLC with HBA and that is far too slow to react in most cases.

I found it to slow to dip and to easily activated by reflective road signs so switched it off. Setting is in the vehicle setup menu via r//h steering wheel menu button.

Cheers

I find it works well but sometimes it confuses me, if I am following another car the blue high beam light stays on but the headlamps have adapted to the situation in that they don’t light up the car in front but still light up the nearside verge.

They also cope with driving on the other side of the road automatically.

You have Matrix LED but the OP has bi-xenon in an L320.

I have Pixel LED and mine will drive in full beam amongst traffic, eg an unlit motorway and it’s quite freaky to see the ‘dance’ of the adapting light beams. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

first thing i disabled on mine when i picked it up in 2010, it caused no end of grief due to
the slowness of response.. got blinded by a few Semi trucks who thought i was being deliberately
discourteous .. should be renamed Auto high beam annoyance.. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

I have used the same HBA in the USA without issue and was very impressed. The same system in the UK isn’t anywhere near as good. I can only put it down to straighter and wider roads with less cluttered verges in the US. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
