Hi , I run a 2008 rrs tdv8 with 110k on the clock I've owned it for 5 years and generally speaking had regular service carried out . Annual mileage is 5k spends most its time on the drive. Last oil service was at 104k in August 2018 and yes I didn't realise how long it had been since the last service but the question is , having only covered 6k in all that time should I get the oil service done asap or can I relax and wait until the summer or even autumn before I would need to change the oil . Thanks in advance for your thoughts .👍

Even though you haven’t done much mileage I would recommend still changing the oil at least every 12 months or less,I get mine serviced at LR dealership every 12 month to keep up with the SH & even though I only do about 6k a year I always change the oil 6 months after service especially with the oil dilution on the SDV6 engines. Andy.

if you do the services yourself then it really is not worth thinking about running more than 1 year

for your low annual mileage,,,, if that is due to short journeys but with daily/regular frequency then absolutely get it done annually

if the car is parked up and hardly ever used, then id say you have some flexibility

I also do low annual mileages and have always serviced my cars annually, the RRS is my first diesel and was going to do the same but are you saying 6 monthly oil changes? Steve

i'm not sure why the OP is asking the question. For the cost of a couple of takeaway curries, it's a no-brainer to have the oil changed once a year even in low mile usage. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Oil change vs take away curry......hmmm that is a tough decision to make for me Kev
