well check for fluid leaks at the front of the engine, where pipes are disturbed for cambelt change.

Thanks for that Andy! Am I going to see the pipe connections from looking under the bonnet, or is a matter of getting under the car? I'd be interested to know your experience in topping up with coolant - half-a-litre in 18,000 seem a lot to me. When I had the gear box replaced I seem to remember a conversation about coolant sometimes finding it's way into the gearbox. Any thoughts. Andrew Kennedy |

Thanks again Andy!! Would I be correct in thinking that when the guy filled up the coolant after the repairs, it would take quite a few miles to sort the level out anyway? Sitting is sunny Spain at the moment. The run down through France to the Costa's gave the car a good work out. Andrew Kennedy |

yes it would take a day following the cambelt change for the level and air to sort itself out.

Hi Andy...….Message on dash came up "coolant level low". That was well into the 18,000 miles covered after the repair and that's when the top up was one big half litre. Will have a look under the bonnet tomorrow - if I can manage to get of the deck chair. No point in going to the beach just at the moment.....if you've been watching the news, all the beaches and shore areas down here have been having storms and SNOW. Regards.....Andrew Andrew Kennedy |
