Is there a map or thread somewhere that shows members locations, be it county or town, that possess the IID tool and the ability to use it fairly confidently?

Hi Si, the tools are locked to specific VIN numbers. You can add additional VINs to the tools at a cost of £60.

Ah ok that’s good to know, I only asked that as I know there was a similar tool for VAG cars and members of another forum offered to make changes to coding etc.

As mentioned above, if you search on the Disco4 side of this forum, there are traders that will be happy to do the job for you.

Ah, I assume you are referring to VCDS? I spent many hours playing with it and fitting many optional extras to my previous VW CC.

VCDS is much better for the money as it’s near as dam it dealer spec for very little money and is not vin locked liked the IID tool! VCDS gives you access to many tweaks on the whole VW/ Audi back catalogue. I used mine many times on my VW Touareg and Skoda Fabia.

I have to say I can’t quite believe the price of them compared to the VAG tools but that’s probably just manufacture adjustment on my part.

Yes, they are expensive but they keep their value well. It's worth considering this when purchasing. Kev

I bought one on the recommendation of DrRob when I met him. It’s been invaluable and as Kev says prices second hand are robust. Don’t forget to look on the sister websites at their for sale stuff 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |
