Paint / glass Protection

Hi there
I have just placed an order for an SVR 2020 model and dealer has given me leaflets such as GARDX PROTECTION - £599
Have any of you used this ? Generally I find that it’s a bunch of muppets that have been “trained” to put it on....very quickly ...and not to the same attention a Detailer would.
Is it worth it ?
Or better to haggle or get it done somewhere else if at all?
It also includes glass guard and a tyre inflation system

I wouldn't trust a dealership to do this.

If you want a coating applied and you don't want to do it yourself, get professional independent specialist to do it for you. Kev

Arrange with a reputable valeting company (see Detailing World website) to have you new car collected from the dealership BEFORE they do any body prepping - it took my local specialist 36 hours to do my Countryman so an SVR might take a bit longer - and let them do it. It might cost you a little more BUT you can rest assured it will have been done under cover and by people specially trained to apply the coatings. The detailers I used are a small company but I was really surprised that our farming area harboured so many exotic cars as there are always rare Porsche’s, Aston’s, Maclarens, Bentley’s, Range Rovers, exotic Audi’s and while I was in yesterday getting my car washed they had a Mustang Bullet edition in being prepped for the local Ford dealer. There are always plenty of undelivered new cars in there for prepping before delivery.
I paid £650 for GTechniq Crystal Serum paint treatment, special glass treatment, plus interior fabrics and surfaces treated on my Countryman. I reckon it was money well spent as even 15 months later water just beads and runs off without any additional intermediate treatment being applied. I had my 1st Evoque treated by Gardex at their HQ and out of the treatments I have tried on various cars that one was by far the best after the G-Techniq BUT it also was not applied by the dealership whereas the others I have used were and didn’t last as long. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks ...that’s the impressiom I am getting.
What sort of PREPPING do the dealership do before - wash and polish?
Also the Gtechniq the Gtechniq serum is that for paint and the wheels ? Is that something I can do myself?

They remove the transportation protection, wash dry, polish and apply the protection BUT at the dealership those guys are under pressure to do that to several cars a day, at a specialist there is pressure to do a good job, get good reviews thus more clients. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tell the dealers NOT to touch the car at all because if they do it makes it harder for the detailed as he will have to remove the swirls etc before he can do what he has to,when I got my VW Amarok new it came straight off the transporter to my place as I told them I didn’t want their monkeys washing it.
Visit this site as it will list local detainers near you,if your willing to travel I can highly recommend this guy & he always has topend 100k plus cars in. http://www.deep-shine.co.uk/
