Quick update, just had it in at land rover where they used a hour on the car. Called me back today and are asking for permission for another 4 hours because they believe the fault isn between head unit and amp.. £156 a hour though so before they even fix the problem its going to be £780 odds without any additional parts ontop. Any opinions guys? |

So they are implying it’s a wiring issue or MOST. MOST should be easy to diagnose as it’s a loop, if it’s broken, it doesn’t work.

Have a feeling the Amp is under the front passenger's seat, not sure if possible but might be worth having a look to see if connections have been knocked in some way by rear seat passenger.

Thanks for the replys guys! So basically they want to strip it down from the amp to the headunit and test the wiring and see where the fault is, basically saying 5 hours labour + any parts needed ontop. Also they couldn't garuntee it would be fixed. im absolutely confused with it! |

You shouldn’t need to strip the car to test wiring! It’s a 30 minute job to do a continuity and insulation test. I have a suspicion they know there is an issue and need to get to it.

Land rover called me back today after further investigations they said that the car needs a full new head unit. They are quoting a total of £1918 for the full repair. Although the parts guy is trying to get me a discount on the labour. The head unit is around £1000. What do you guys think regarding this?

Pm me your VIN and I’ll get the part number (unless you know it) and see what eBay has. In my experience a second hand unit from a reputable dealer is £120 to £200, fitting in. L320 is about 15 to 20 minutes so I expect your car to be similar. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
