After fairly heavy rain last night, went for a short drive to pick someone up. When they opened the passenger door a fair amount of water was release from the base of the door where it meets the base of the door frame above the side step. On further inspection the passenger front carpet was sodden.

Back home I checked the drains at the base of the door and they are clear, the pollen filter is bone dry also my car does not have a sun roof.

Any Ideas or advice please..

Worn or damaged door seal or window seal?

You can get a smoke bomb which you put in the car and the smoke finds it’s way out through gaps and gives you an indication of where to look. Shouldn’t be to difficult to locate. Just make sure your electrics are dry. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Mine MY12 had the same issue, with a miss fitted front windscreen, that let water in.
They tried to work around the issue, but only fitting s new windscren made the end of this problem.
A pillar problem or a sunroof blocked drain issue can also be the broblem ( hope so because these are cheap to fux) RRS L494 HSE 3.0 SDV6 MY15

Looks as though I've found the leak....... The door aperture seal just below the A post looks as though someone has pulled on it while getting out of the car so allowing water into the passenger foot well.

An easy fix but now to try and dry it out.... only problem is, it's in daily use.

I've removed the side trim so I can lift the carpet and as you say, soak up the water with towels. It's going to take some time though. The carpet is foam backed and is notoriously good at holding on to the water.

I just need to remove the bonnet release lever to remove the plastic trim behind it so I can lift the carpet a little more.

I'll try the silica gel as well...all helps, I think you can get it in a container that collects the water.

Maybe get a dehumidifier and run it whenever you aren't running the car. Kev
