Read this string this morning, so as a new owner decided to check the oil level. Only to find that the OK button on the steering wheel isn’t working. All the other functions work. It was working last week as I changed some of the settings. Anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

Of course I am assuming it works o.k. but never put any oil in between services and it hasn't gone bang yet. On my 2012 SDV6 have never had any issue. 10 mins after switch off the level can be checked. Still would prefer a traditional dipstick as well. I check it a couple of times a week.

then spent a few mins reading the manual,

The actual reading on the dash is only an indication
of the top 1.5 litres, there is 5.9 litres in total so when this
is indicating as low the max you should need to top up with
is 1.5 litres..

So to run out would need you to use the full dash indication and 4.4 litres..

and you would get a low level warning well before this happens..

But yes a dipstick would be instant and more convenient.. ===========================================

I think you may find it will tell you how much oil to add if low, 1.5 litres is from min to max, if you add that amount because it just said low you may find it will give you a overfilled reading next time you check it.

Yes mine is fine
I was just saying that even if the dash shows low,
its only a maximum of 1.5 litres to fill it up ,

but the warning will tell you how much to add
as Col mentioned in his post..

Mine is one notch above the 1/2 way point,
so just needs watching, I am going to have the oil changed in April
as its 6 months since I purchased it..  ===========================================
