Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

IR

I moved out of my then brand new V8SC as it was both proving unreliable and it just didn’t feel like a $180k car, poor plastics, clunky electronics and I found the spindly steering wheel annoying every time I touched it.

So for me, an M3 replaced the RRS. Lifestyle changes, yes, I have sold my jet ski (no need for towing) and now rent a vehicle if I need a 4wd or I am going on a cross country trip where there is red dust! My next boat will be walk on, no need to tow. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2009 Buckingham Blue RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Gone - 2017 Chawton White RRS 5.0 V8 Supercharged
Current - 2010 Java Black RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Current- 2024 RRS P400 SE Dynamic

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue

I’ve had plenty of Golfs over my driving years and it’s the only car I can say I keep coming back to. You won’t regret it one bit.

Steve. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Or you could stop making assumptions and consider what I wrote at the start of my post: "After a significant change in my personal circumstances"... Rolling Eyes SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.

It's a pretty silly point anyway.

Why is the Range Rover the right vehicle for me?

Because I wanted one... MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

If only Land Rover could sort out their quality control, they would have a world beater on their hands and people like me wouldn't have to jump ship.
Thumbs Up

I took the wrong statement I thought you were saying you'd stay if the quality was there , I am not being critic just pointing out that the Range Rover won't do what a Golf will do and a Golf won't do what a RR will. I happen to really like the VAG brand. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Have VW ditched that horrible “caravan style” checked seat design in their GTis? MY19 5.0SC Dynamic AB - Boss Grey, Black Pano Roof, 22” Gloss Black Alloys, Ebony/Ivory Massage Seats, Carbon Fibre Finishers, HUD, DTV and the all important Cabin Ionisation...

My wife has a Golf. Comparing my RRS 5.0SC with her car is like comparing her with Emily Ratajkowski.... MY19 5.0SC Dynamic AB - Boss Grey, Black Pano Roof, 22” Gloss Black Alloys, Ebony/Ivory Massage Seats, Carbon Fibre Finishers, HUD, DTV and the all important Cabin Ionisation...

The same Big Cry

There was nothing left value wise in 2011 3.0 and the dealer right royally had my pants down and definitely same coming when I bought it, so I chopped it in for a 4 series diesel and to be honest Im loving it Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

More miles to the gallon and more smiles cause of the M Sport set up. Its comfortable and goes when you put the loud pedal down and I can honestly admit im not missing the RR anything like I thought I would.

The one thing I can honestly say though is that the forums are very very poor nothing like this one at all Thumbs Up

Hi Scousefly, I'm in a 440i at the moment and seriously considering the opposite move. I do adore the 440i though.

Forums - have you tried F30post? It's excellent. A dedicated and busy UK forum with endless info on the cars and deals, plus a lively UK offtopic section where we kill each other over Brexit daily Laughing and discuss all sorts of other cars too. There are numerous international sub-forums too, plus the main US sections. On top of that, it's just a part of bimmerpost, so extends into all other models too. I'm currently haunting the G05 section, checking out the new model X5.

Nice!

OP - that's a lovely GTI that you have moved into. For what it's worth, I would buy a GTI over a R 100 times out of a hundred - looks way better, heritage, owning an example of an iconic car/badge. I've never owned a GTI, but loved a Mk6 demo that I had for a day, terrific fun to drive.

Whereas the R, to these eyes, looks like the descendant of how Barry in the 1990s would have modded his Golf Mk.2 1.6 GL into a GTI-beater. Sorry, R owners Smile

Let’s be honest, it would be worth bringing in a separate cook and cleaner.
