So after my 2016 RRS suffered the dreaded SDV6 engine seizure, after it took 6 weeks to get my car back, and after it subsequently dumped its coolant everywhere because the dealer failed to put a clip on one of the radiator hoses (which then blew off) I have gotten rid of it.

It never went properly, and I suspect the new engine was down on power, and ultimately I lost confidence in my RRS completely.

However, I have been consoled by my new Merc AMG C63 which is utterly awesome. Plus the Mercedes dealer experience has been so much better.

Fantastic car , does it give a hard ride ?

It’s a 2 door (Coupe).

In comfort mode it’s really very comfortable - I don’t mean comfortable for an rock-hard performance car, I mean genuinely real-world pot-holed UK roads comfortable.

If’s reignited in me a desire to go for a drive just for the hell of it that I haven’t had since my old E46 M3 of many years ago.

But most of all I love the sounds. There ain’t no substitute for cubes....

I love the C63 AMG....even the older ones. Fantastic cars. You`ve definately made the right choice dumping the RR for that  Steve.

I didn't know that car had 4WD off road mode ? Not really a replacement but more a change? M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

IRBails, the reality is that almost no LRs go off road these days. The Merc will be a perfect replacement in which case.

We all need more people to call LR out on their poor quality control, customer service and dealerships. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Quality control is an issue , but the question is why buy a 4WD if you aren't going off road? There are so many better options for on road use than the RRS, especially in this price range. The Merc is a very nice car but so different to the RRS. If I did not want off road ability there is no way I would choose a RRS. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Because for many owners a RR is a fashion statement and particularly in my opinion those who own an SVR.

RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..
