Sorry, we have to split this discussion in pre 17my and after.
Pre 17 MY on Aftermarket Flat-Blades are problematic , as they are „flying“ above 120 km/h and this is far from safe, as then they wipe 40% less than hybrid wipers, more speed, less functionality.
I recommend hybrid blades, like oem.

From 17 MY on, they changed the wiper arms and to flat blades in general. Here you dont have the problems with „flying“ wipers above 120 km/h, even on flat blades.

I’ve just fitted Bosch Aero. They work fine on my 2008. Wish I’d know about these guys though. Good price. Thumbs Up Robin

Use "Rain X" on your screen. I have been using it for years. Above 40mph or so you don't need the wipers as the rain just blows off. Below 40 the occasional flick wipe clears it. Can't remember the last time I needed blades. Also hardly ever have to use screen washers so much so when the car returns from a service there is always a bottle of screen washer in the car as the bottle is always full. Rather than deducting the exorbitant price from the bill, they give you a bottle of the stuff Laughing

@lindab
how many miles are you driving per year and how often do you wash your car?

I just want to understand why this Rain-X dosent work for me.

I go 40.000 miles per year, with 2 quick car washes a week, and every second week rain-x is left..., can´t re-apply rain-x two times per month... Wink 2012 RRS HSE SDV6, BOURNVILLE 12/12-10/14

I am doing around 15k/year on my S class Merc & not a lot on Range rover (used once a week). Cars are washed once a week without fail using Snowfoam but I don't put it on the glass. I just use water on the screen. Rain x was re applied about every 6 weeks or so only taking a couple of minutes
However I am now using Gtechniq G1 clear vision which does take a bit of time to apply but it has been on for about 9 months now & still working well. They reckon it lasts between 1-2 years. Its a bit more expensive but that is offset by not having to apply it much.
I changed as I am a fan of all Gtechnig products. All my vehicles have ceramic coat, wheels & inside protected by Gtechniq.
I still rate RainX as it takes no time to apply, is cheap & works well even if I had to apply it twice a month I would still use it as for me hardly using the wipers is a benefit especially at night doing 70mph as the vision is there

I've heard good things about silicone blades but never tried them. Anyone have experience of them? They are meant to last years and work incredibly well.......apparently! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

I tried silicone ones on a previous car.....no better or worse than Bosch ones I use now. Steve.

Renaco, Make sure your windscreen is ultra clean. With the mileage you are doing, there may be a lot of contaminants on the glass so I would use a claybar first. Have a look at the Gtechniq video on their website for the G1 application, it is worth watching. It is worth the effort doing it properly Thumbs Up Very Happy

I have a 2016 (MY16), and have ran various blades, here's my verdict...

Factory blade, 1 year, perfect until after a harsh winter and got smeary.

Bosch blades x3, about 6 months each. These I find can get juddery after a few months. Definitely not as good as OEM blades.

Trico. Bought these and immediately were juddery and anything except a very wet screen..replaced these after a few weeks.

Denso hybrid blades. Bought these from euro car parts and must say these so far have been as good as the OEM ones. Will update this post once I've had them a bit longer...
