I wonder what the actual (honest) percentage of this type of failure is, Land Rover claim 1.3% Reading on the Jag forums, they also suffer the spun bearings &/or Broken crankshaft scenario.

LR wanted £18500 plus vat but I thinkhe got it done down south a lot cheaper

Is n't this engine built for LR by Ford? It's certainly evolved from the Ford/PSA partnership. If so how often is it failing with othe brands?

I wonder 'if' you'd taken back ownership (not suggesting this would have been wise) if LR could/would have slid out of their obligations quite so easily. |

When I contacted LRCS they said the warranty is transferable as the warranty is with the vehicle not the owner but they still found a way not to pay out.

It's still happening with the latest models, a friends Disco 5 engine blew up & it took him 3 weeks to get LR to agree to buy the car back from him, the car had only done 10,000 miles ! |

I saw a vw caravelle for sale at Christmas (ex airport transfers) with 840000 miles!! and some of the LR 3.0 s cant make 20000 ! |
