TBH - don't think it will cause any permanent damage - I have replaced 2 of those due to fading & they are not sealed to the windscreen. It's about 30 mins to change & is a DIY job For about £50 you can purchase a new one - someone on here will identify the part number - all my paperwork - receipts went with the sold Sports.

Thanks for that. Will the water cause any damage to anything by running under it instead of over it and any idea where to pick a new one up from?
