From 2018 BMW engines

Someone on youtube was claiming that from 2018 Jaguars and LandRovers will be using BMW engines Shocked

Please tell me this isn't true? Big Cry

The 5 litre SC was being discussed at the time.

Mind you it could be an improvement on the diesels.

With the huge investment in the Ingenium engine plant for JLR's own engines, I can't see it happening Wink

Why would they go back to BMW engines ? When Ford took over they couldn't get rid of them fast enough gutless rubbish just look at the P38's and early L322's. They now have a good range of engines what can BMW offer that's any better ? 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Perhaps looking for a reliable Diesel engine. Whistle
More profitable not having to build etc your own, but personally couldn’t see JLR going down this road, more so if Bexit fails! John

I'd put money on engines being bought in to replace the V6 and V8 petrols.

And I would not be shocked to see JLR purchase AM, so my money is on Mercedes............. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Not so much the 6 cilinders. they will be JLR's own ign straight 6 (like BMW
's very smooth and succesfull design).

But a V8 might indeed be purchased from BMW or AMG RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux

The full quote.
As you can probably tell from an American

Well it is gorgeous, I have owned British cars all my life and own a British shop that specializes in these cars. I will give you the bad and ugly about this vehicle since he mentioned only the good. Well this AJ 133 series engines with the tvs system will have many issues in time. I have seen the injectors fail at 30k miles, mechanical fuel pumps fail under 50k miles. The spark plugs will fail about 50-60k miles..The shocks can fail also at 30k miles, the e-boxes require software updates from time to time. The center frig will fail under 50k miles..the rear lift gate can lose calibration and need reprogramming.A slew of other issues I wont mention. But yes its nice be beware the quality is not something LR invested in when building this.Last but not least, after 2018 no v8 engines in LR or Jaguar will be made by LR and Jaguar, BMW will supply them with the N63 bi turbo engines found in the 7 and 6 series bimmers today which is gonna be a mess! And for the record..Ford doesn't make the engine for Jaguar, they only supply the lower main, everything else is made by Jaguar the entire overhead. But again its a beautiful truck my friend.

If you think that is bad, you should have listened to the owner. Banging Head

Kept saying, this is my naturally aspirated 5 litre.

and later opened the bonnet and pointed to the supercharger.

and then later went on about his naturally aspirated 5 litre.
