Brake Switch Fault, Followed By Yellow Brake Light etc

Hi gang

Having problems with RRS, have yellow brake pad light on, traction light on, rollover light on and display saying reduced suspension ride height ( although it looks ok ) but I'm unable to select ride height.

Plugged into to diagnostic reader code are as follows:

P1935-00 Brake Switch / Sensor Signal Permanent (Have Replaced with new one, no effect all brake lights work ok)

U0416-86 Invalid data from vehicle dynamics control module Permanent

Got to be something simple, because other than that alls well.

Any help would be much appreciated Big Cry

Just a minor query, did you use a new genuine LR brake switch? It has been reported that others can cause problems/failures, same as brake light bulbs I believe. Whistle John

The brake pad light is triggered only by pad wear to the limit or a break in one of the two sensors wiring. Both easily checked.

First thing to check for suspension related warnings is the state of battery charge - low volts upsets some of the systems so check voltage across the battery terminals engine off but after car has been sitting overnight i.e. not just after it has been running. Anything less than 12.4 ish is too low. Try fully charging the battery.

If you need professional help - you are in luck as there is a very good independent called Landers near you in Houghton Regis:

Andy - I must RTFM more often Embarassed
Seems the amber (yellow) also indicates problems with EBA or EPB systems so yes it makes sense that it can be thrown up by some other unrelated fault. I think this is what people call 'cascade faults' on the Canbus? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
