2008 RRS radio upgrade question

Have searched old and new post but cannot find the answer i want, i have a 2008 RRS S with just the standard stereo and not the Hardon Kardon system, does the standard stereo have the fiber optics as on youtube there is a radio upgrade with fitting kit and appears not to have fiber optics, it was plug and play and no cutting of wires, all done in 30 mins, i want to upgrade my radio and keep the top nav screen, Cheers

Have found this

I have nothing on the speakers and have looked at the build details of my RRS from my local Dealers and all it says is standard radio fitted, To identify if you have a factory-amplified audio system, you can check the vehicle in a number of ways. Some vehicles will have clear markings on the speaker grills indicating the presence of an upgraded audio system. You can also check with the original order notes/invoice from when the car was purchased from the factory, the upgraded sound system with an amplifier would show on the options list. If unsure, you can call your local dealer with your vehicles chassis number and ask them to check if the vehicle was manufactured with an amplified audio system. what do you think

just look under the front seat and see if you have a amp there or take out the head unit and see if there is a fibre optic cable plugged in to the back of it Thumbs Up

The fact that you say you have navigation sounds like you have optical fibre and need to do something different to keep the factory nav working if that is what you want?

Just looked under drivers seat and no Amp, so i am guessing there is no Amp fitted meaning no fibre optics cable to radio, what do you think.

Just remove the radio to be sure that there is no orange cable going to the back of head Unit but no amp should mean no nfibre optic as you don't have sat nav fitted do you ?

Have just removed radio and does have the orange fiber optics cables, hoping it did not as radio upgrade wound have been a lot simpler, just have to look for radio upgrade with the cables and patch leads, do want to keep top sat nav though so now searching for suppliers included the links posted above.

With all those green wires? In the back there may not be an amp.

However you probably need it for the sat Nav

You might be right(no amp) as can not find the amp location if fitted, no amp under the drivers seat either. Cheers
