main dealer car November 2015 registered and salesman saying the warranty is "the same as on a new car" ?
kept picking at this, is it "landrover" or is it "car care" operated insurance type warranty

Reply was if the car is less than 2 years old then it is landrovers Extended Warranty

any one confirm if the "extended" warranty is different from the "approved" warranty which I still believe is operated by carcare

The car comes with 3 year factory warranty, so on a 2015 you will get that plus the dealer will top up to 2 years with the 'Approved used' warranty. The latter is almost the same. If you get an 'extended warranty' then they will charge you for diagnosis, if the issue is covered by the warranties t's n c's then the dealer passes the dignosis bill to LR. If it is outside of warranty items, then you get to pay all of it.  Gone:

had another test drive today at another M/D and asked for confirmation again, regarding exact details of warranty
and
balance of "new" warranty until 3 years old then topped up to the 2 years with the "approved" warranty
its the wear and tear element the "administrators" decide if its worn out early or not

The Approved Warranty covers almost everything bar suspension bushes, glass and broken wires. Short of the original factory warranty, it's about as good as it gets. You also get LR Assist which is excellent. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
