2.7 TDV6 Oil Pump Replacement

Hi guys,

When replacing the oil pump, is the bottom crankshaft pulley on a key way? or do you need to use the timing pin, just trying to workout if I need to fit the pin before undoing the main crankshaft bolt to remove the cambelt crankshaft pulley.

Thanks

Ian

Found the answer to my own question, no woodruff key in the crank shaft

You may want to check if the locking pin is designed to withstand the force of you undoing the bolt. They usually aren't.

You might want to loosen the bolt before disassembling the cambelt. You might want to do some more research first

How did you eventually get the crankshaft pulley off. Does the bolt come off clockwise or anti-clockwise?

Thanks DM, I eventually got the crankshaft pulley off, tight bolt!!!!, but see no woodruff key system on the crankshaft end itself, but there is a key system on the pulley wheel that I removed, how's that works surely it isn't just the force of the bolt that is holding it on?

Yes it is - just the torque of the bolt holds the pulley in place. 07MY RRS TDV6

WOW! OK that seems insane but explains that side of things then thanks. Any idea what the key/notches on the actual crank pulley do/are for then?
