Simple answer is: yes, it's an improvement. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

SDv6 all the way! Nicer interior, better mpg, smoother, quieter engine, more power, face lift model so newer............ what's not to like? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

beware of the crank issue on the T/SDV6 though, an expensive repair bill if the crank breaks! --
