Genuine to Aftermarket side steps fitment advice

Hi All,

As per the title, my drivers-side Aluminium side step strip has fallen off. I have genuine side steps fitted but I begrudge spending £500-600 + fitting on LR parts.

I have sourced aftermarket side steps complete with the Alu strip locally, so was going to pick them up but wanted to check with you guys first...

Generally, whats the likelihood of the aftermarket steps being a straight forward bolt on job to the current genuine side step fitments?

Are the aftermarket products generally based on using same holes, brackets, etc as the genuine parts?

Hope this makes sense?

Cheers

Gareth

I can't say for certain, but the after market parts are usually copies of the OE ones, so you should be fine.

You should be able to slide the old step off it's brackets and slip the new ones on without having to do too much work.

I have changed a couple of sets of side steps using the original brackets - both have needed a little persuasion to push onto the old brackets but the holes lined up fine to fit the steps to the brackets ( if that makes sense ) Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Gents, thats fantastic feedback and exactly what I was hoping for!

Will report back with progress and hopefully closure when I pick up the new steps.

Thanks again

Gareth
