Hello All,

MY RRS is due a service can anyone recommend a garage in the sidcup area?
I have a mechanic I usually use for my cars but he is not a 4x4 Specialist.

Well you've always got Beadles....don't immediately dismiss them...I have had them work on my G4 D3 on a agreed price basis where I bartered with them.... plus they have all the specialist tools so sometimes they could be a better bet in the long term.
Alternatively there is Geoff from the D3 forum who travels throughout the South East and will do most jobs including the cam belts.... pm me if you want his details!

Slightly further afield but definitely worth travelling to are AHL Engineering in Maidstone... run by a pair of LR mad brothers will also be excellent and are straight and honest!

i use my local garage in belvedere ( Gilbert Road service station ) there really good and know there stuff

Yes. I live in Lewisham and its my closest. Very good. Used Geoff for some more specialised bits and pieces.

Another vote for Geoff (did my gearbox flush)

Also Dakar 4x4 in Wilmington (recommended by Beadles when they couldnt look at the motor for 6 weeks as so busy)
Diagnosed and fixed a failed injector at a great price TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten

After the advice provided by forum members i have booked in at LRR in SE7 for the 07/03/17 and having just booked I am happy I asked a couple of question on the service as they offer 3 options.

The gentlemen on the phone said I only needed option 2 which is a B service, I then asked about Cam belts and he said that I did not need them to be done to until next year. due to age and mileage.

I will report back once they have carried out the service and any bits they might find.

i popped down to LRR the other to have my FBH unlocked yet again and john there was very helpful, its a bit like a scrapyard but they know there stuff

They've been there for 40 years or something like that!

I'm booked in on the 9th for some fettling

yeah the guy was saying there not sure how much longer they will be there because the area is down to be flattened
