Leaking transfer box and a legacy problem

Noticed a leak around the transfer box front output flange (provides the connection for the front propshaft). Had it looked at by James French at Standlake. Transfer box removed, split and a new flange kit installed (flange, bearing and oil seal), box reinstalled and new oil added. 500 all in. Better than I feared it would be. Thumbs Up

The garage have, however, noted a slight exhaust leak from the left turbo - I asked them about a whining noise I'd started to hear recently. It appears that the bracket that should support the turbo against the engine block is missing. Now, the turbo was replaced by a LR dealership so I'm not surprised it's been bodged. Surprising that it's been like that for 2 years, however, as the turbo is only supported by the exhaust manifold in effect. James French are going to get a price for the bracket and have a think about how to fit it. I fear it's a body off job though. I reckon they'll find a sheared bolt or something which is why it wasn't refitted last time.

They did ask if I wanted to try to get the dealership to sort it out. My view is that after 2 years they will deny anything to do with it and I can't prove it's been like that since then anyway. Also, I'd rather let my Spaniel work on the car than let the dealership touch it again! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
