SVR Discounts?

Hi All,

First ever post so please be gentle! I recently had a test drive in an SVR and I think it's a fantastic car. the only thing stopping me from buying one is the potential for epic depreciation. I bought one of the First Edition Supercharged Sports back in 2005 and lost £35k in less than two years (but it was a hell of a lot of fun...).

I've spoken to a couple of dealers and even been through Car Wow and the best discount I've been offered so far is 1.6%. I know some members are aware of discounts of 7% on 2017 cars and 10% on 2016's. A discount at this level would make the deal viable for me but can anyone tell me which dealer to try?

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

None that I know of in South Wales, but Hatfields in Pickering, North Yorkshire, (Also have branches elsewhere) give some good discounts, or price match figures, not sure if that includes SVRs with an alleged waiting list? John

If you are concerned about depreciation then do everyone a favour and don't push for a discount. 😄

A friend was offered 0.6% discount on an SVR earlier this week.

Philmw - I don't think that one customer asking for a discount is going to stop a car like the SVR from depreciating but thanks for responding.

Have you tried James at Lookers, Forum sponsor and general all round good guy

I believe once upon a time they were the dealer with the highest sales of RRS, few years back the deal was good enough for me to travel from Leeds, and Tim travels from Scotland to do deals with them

No, but an increasing number of and increasing size of discounts pushes value down.

I ordered a MY16.5 SVR NO discount at all.

I have now ordered a MY17 SVR NO Discount at all.

Dealers say they cant get enough allocation of the SVR and can sell them all day long. When I looked at car wow I didn't see any discount worth talking about either.

I asked more than one dealer and was not given a discount but I do know there is or was 3k deposit contribution on MY16.5 Cars but that's not much of a %.

As for the others saying discount it could just be right place right time for a stock car and needing to hit targets. Losing money is a given probably to the 30k in 2 years you lost before if you were trading it in.

Resale looks high but don't be fooled the dealer will not give you more than any other car trade in regardless of resale value.

No discounts and long lead times is what we want to keep prices up Smile Limited numbers would help aswell

Slough gave 7% off an MY17 SVR order to someone I know a few weeks ago.....The initial query was for an MY16.5 but when the 17 was announced they honoured it.

There is also currently a Black SVR available on AT and and without trying hard he offered the car to me for £82k

Prices are falling for sure but still fantastic cars so do it Thumbs Up

Hi,

There's a fairly well spec'd Estoril SVR on 22's in the (temporary) showroom @ Yeovil that they tried to talk me into when I went into put a deposit on SWMBO's new D5 this week, but my 6m old A/B is fine for what I do.

Might be worth a chat with the Sales Manager (Keiron).

No discount on the SVR haha don't make me laugh. Two great examples above, these dealers will try to tell you no discounts but there is always someone willing. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.
