Replacement 2.7l engine advice

Hi this is my first post. My engine has suffered an oil pump failure and The very quick destruction of the big ends.
I am now trying to find a replacement engine and someone sensible to carry out the work.
I would really appreciate any advice from anyone who has had this experience good or bad as there seem to be a lot of company's offering this service with very few reviews from there customers.

Sorry to hear about the engine failure. As you probably already know this oil pump failure is usually associated with fracture of the casting. Land Rover never made it the subject a recall but tacitly admitted its a problem by re-designing the pump and there is now an updated part number.

If you have a complete service history it may be worth contacting Land Rover and seeking at least a contribution to the cost of a replacement engine. Several folk on the Disco 3 site especially have successfully done this but it seems you have to be very persistent as they will try to fob you off at first. Search the Disco 3 site as well as the RRS site for details about the VIN ranges affected. Good luck! 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
