i think alot of it was an injector issue as it was down at 600/700 at it needed to be 1000k or above.

ive also tried starting whilst the glow plug light is still on the dash and it its bloody amazing different car now.

quite how i will never know??

i changed to a different type of battery that maintains 12v under load and its solved the problem. went from a numax 100Ah 1000CCA to a 68Ah, 1500PCCA Oddyssy - cold start problem now solved.

in my case i believe it was was the fact that initial startup systems combined with glow plugs took too much out of the battery so the ECU didnt continue to see a true 12v (or whatever voltage it needs) and therefore closed down!

I wouldn't have thought with the loss of that much current from 100Ah to 68Ah would in fact hinder starting rather than help, you can end up with just 1amp in the battery but still have 12v. Confused John
