Is there phone connectivityfor RRS 2006

Hi,
looking at getting my first RRS, i'm used to creature comforts such as bluetooth and my iPhone connecting to the car and streaming my music. My budget allows for a 2006 - 2008 car.
I've seen the one in the link below, it has the green adn red buttons for answering phone calls, but i couldn't see anywhere the connection for a phone, i understand Bluetooth wasn't introduced until 2010 models?

What are the options as aftermarket add on?

cheers
Steve

There will be a useless dock connector under the console lid.

I think you can upgrade the standard system to BT for Ł300? Ish.
Or you could fit an aftermarket system for half that.

I'm not sure how you can do stero music streaming on the RRS.

It's been there since 2006. It's just that the original module is crap, search the forum for 'bluetooth upgrade', it's been answered a million times, and then get in touch with Ian.
And no, there is no factory-looking BT streaming solution. Regards etc.,

Wojtek

A "hands free" system has been available on D3 and RRS since launch but it was optional and needed a cradle under the armrest in the Centre cubby box. It became a standard fitting in 2007 and the cradle was done away with in Sept 2007 for 2008MY cars.
You will find that the early system is not great and is quite basic, a Parrott or similar aftermarket system will give you everything the LR system gave an d more seamlessly and less expensive......... It might even be worth your while upgrading the original audio system to one with DAB and BT if you decide to go for an aftermarket system. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi chaps,
thanks for the responses.
Picking up the car tomorrow, it will be my first RRS. Looking forward to it. I will then be able to play around and see what's what.

cheers

The standard bluetooth on my 2008 RRS works fine. Easier and faster than the 15 plate C250 I've spent the last year in. Only downside is I have no idea how to mute the mic.

If only they had put bluetooth audio in!

That's a similar spec to mine except you've got a sunroof whereas I have side steps. Enjoy Smile

Have now has the car for 2 days. There is no phone cradle in the centre console. HAve searched posts and web results for where the AUX port is, everyone points me to look at the back of the centre console under a panel. But i have nothing, just 2 small cubby holes for possibly storing a mars bar. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

I think under the vents is a panel which lifts up to show a lighter power socket and aux.

Don't have the cradle in the centre console, but from what i read it's pointers anyway.
As for the eBay Rear console facia, would it not be easier (cheaper even) to remove the radio and insert headphone cable into the AUX port and then run it to the inside of the centre arm rest console? 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

The aux wires are the red and blue and ground on the left connector.
Follow the blue wire to see which cable is goes to, to see which red and earth it is

Check for bluetooth module under the flap in the boot (right-hand side panel). Regards etc.,
