Entire dashboard off centre !

Hi,

Brand new member here (great forum thank you).

Is it just mine, or do all have the same dash fitment, I'm talking about the entire dash - from drivers door to passenger door. I noticed a gap on the drivers side between the door trim and the end of the dash of approximately 10mm. However the passenger side to be about 2mm. I took it to the dealership and they tell me they're all like that..... Surely not ?!

Would anyone please mind having a look at theirs ....

Mine has gap of about 2mm on passenger side and about 5mm on drivers side (right hand drive). No squeaks or rattles from it so wont be asking dealer to fix it any time soon!

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Firenze Red

Hi BigBen,

Just been out in mine and I have a gap of about 2mm on the passenger side and 5mm on driver's side, which is the same driver's side as you!

As said before, this is near enough for me as I don't want to introduce squeaks and rattles having this investigated. I am not that OCD!!!

Cheers,

Welcome to the forum , I am also a fairly new owner coming from a German brand. Like you I am amazed at some of the fitment , which for the price, is pretty sub standard for a 21st century car. This being said the drive is the thing that over comes these niggles , if the car wasn't so good to drive then I am sure I would not have paid the entry price. I will now check my dash , which will most likely be out of line like some of my rear hatch trim. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Thank you IRBails,

You're right, there's goods and there's bads, but for me the bads are far out weighed by all those good looks and drives I'm sure we are all experiencing. I have a handful of other fitment issues, rattles and squeaks, but I'll live with them cos I love every other part of this vehicle so much.

I've owned the car for a month and painted the side skirts, front corners, grilles, tow covers and the best part - the steering wheel airbag cover to match the almond leather. Also swapped the 20's to 22's. Just love it.

Dashboard rattles/creaks/not aligned

Long round trip to the dealers so I stripped the trims out and straight away NOT ONE screw was even nipped up, shoddy production control. Realigned, put some mastic in some plastic squeaking joints and used a bit of thin black window seal and its now spot on without squeaks, an hour it took to do.
The parts do align together with some careful assembly.
