On MY2012 RRS SDV6 HSE Lux I have what I believe to be a Webasto Fuel Burning Heater (FBH), this comes on when the outside temperature has been below around 8c, and keeps running after you turn off engine after a short drive.
I don't seem to see any of the usual benefits of a FBH, the interior of car doesn't get warmed or the engine gets to temperature any quicker than normal.
My query is, what is it (Webasto) meant to do, is it as above? Can it be programmed to turn on/off as you require with addition of a Remote and what else?
Any information or advice would be appreciated, as there's nothing in my owners manual, beyond it is fitted as a option.
See photos of unit above. Many thanks.John

Yeah it can be enabled to allow timed heating and if you have a remote it can work with that too. If you have timed then it will be in Extra Features in your touch controls along side 4X4. If its not enabled then it can be with a IID tool or similar. Remote is an extra feature that needs hardware. You 'might' also have this which will be located in the boot. Search for remote FBH or similar on here for info on exact location.
I've just purchased a remote kit for mine from Bodsy on here at £175.
As far as heating the engine up quicker, like you i find it difficult to tell tbh. Perhaps others can give evidence as to how much of a difference it makes compared to non FBH cars/engines.
