Might be a silly question but why does the OBD2 port need protection?? 07MY RRS TDV6

Wasn't that a L494 which do have a security issue which allows easy access to the car when it is locked. If thieves have the skill to break into the security system of the car then I am sure they will be able to remove the OBD2 lock in a short time.

The only local records of earlier L320s being stolen is when the keys are nicked first.

However if this lock provides you with a bit of confidence in the security of the car then that is great.

Cheers

The OBD port is merely a spur of the CANBUS; they need only go underneath and probe it elsewhere to achieve the same. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Any car with keyless entry is at risk. All these measures do is slow them down or make them pick an easier target.

This was an issue when I had my ST. A few people bought various OBD protectors, some went to Screwfix and bought virtually the same stuff for £8 Laughing Relocating is another good idea. Steve.
